Research Concepts, Inc. (RCI) is an electrical engineering firm specializing in the design, development and production of microprocessor based equipment for the domestic and international satellite communications and agricultural markets. Research Concepts, Inc. was founded in 1983 by Paul Gabel, an electrical engineer who was employed by General Electric in Owensboro, Kentucky. At that time, the company was known as Design Concepts and it produced microwave terrestrial interference filters for home satellite receivers. In 1985, the founder left GE and moved the company to Lexington, Kentucky where a large customer was located. On January 1, 1986, the business was incorporated as Research Concepts, Inc. In late 1987, RCI moved to its present location in Shawnee, Kansas. Since then, RCI has expanded to include 24 full time employees...and in 2006, logged sales in excess of $3.6 million. As a small business in the electronics industry, we see great advantage in our ability to move quickly, responding to market opportunities well before larger firms. We take pride in our employees' ability to adapt to new products and challenges in the market. The RCI commitment to superior customer service and product reliability has made the company a respected name in the business. Our employees are a significant contributor to this success. |
