RC2000A.Zip

This file documents the programs included on the diskette which is included with the RC2000A vers. 2.30 manual.

Here are the programs included on the diskette ...

RC2KDEMO.EXE .. This is a communications program for use with the RC2000 family of antenna controllers. This program is derived from the AUTOPILOT software which controls RC1000A, RC2000A, RC2000C and RC2500 antenna controllers as well as Standard Agile Omni receivers and some DX receivers. For more information view the RC2KDEMO.DOC file included on the diskette. This file may be viewed by clicking it open or by entering BROWSE RC2KDEMO.DOC at a DOS prompt. This program features a user friendly interface.

RC2KC.EXE .. This is a communication program designed for use with the RC2000 antenna controller. It is intended primarily for use by software developers or for users troubleshooting or installing a communications link with an RC2000. This program is documented in the file RC2KC.DOC included on the diskette. To view this file, click it open or enter BROWSE RC2KC.DOC at a DOS prompt. The C source code for this program is included on the diskette in the RC2KC.C file.

ANTENNA.EXE .. This is a satellite antenna pointing solution calculator. The user is prompted to enter the antenna latitude/longitude and the satellite longitude. The program will calculate the true and magnetic azimuth heading and the elevation angle required to intercept the satellite. This program is documented in the file ANTENNA.DOC included on the diskette. To view this file, click it open or enter BROWSE ANTENNA.DOC at a DOS prompt.

SCALE2.EXE .. This routine is used to calculate the Azim Scale Factor, Azim Offset, Elev Scale Factor, and Elev Offset CONFIG mode items for RC2000A model antenna controllers. These CONFIG mode items allow the controller to display the antenna azimuth and elevation positions in an angle format. The use of this routine is documented in the manual.

2AREM230.TXT .. This file contains a copy of the RC2000A communications protocol. It is a copy of what is included in the manual. To view this file, click it open or type BROWSE 2AREM230.TXT at a DOS prompt.

CCWP4.DOC(PDF) .. This file contains a copy of a paper entitled "Computer Control of Satellite Antennas". This paper gives a brief summary of the capabilities of the RC1000, RC2000 and RC2500 antenna controllers and discusses the options for computer control of these antenna controllers. This paper is available in a document or PDF format. To view this paper, click it open or type BROWSE CCWP4.DOC at a DOS prompt.

WINDEMO.ZIP .. This is a self extracting program which allows a user to run a demo version of the Windows AutoPilot DownLink Manager (DLM) program. AutoPilot DLM runs under or Windows 95, 98, NT or 2000 (not Windows 3.xx) and controls RC1000A, RC2000A, RC2000C, and RC2500 antenna controllers as well as Standard Agile Omni receivers and some DX receivers. AutoPilot DLM allows the user to schedule a series of antenna movements and satellite receiver configurations. The AUTOPILOT software is produced by Broadcast Automation Systems (ph: (416) 264-8415, fax: (416) 264-8417, email: wjcoutts@netcom.ca) and is available from Research Concepts.
The demo program demonstrates the look and feel of the actual program but does not control any devices - the operation of the equipment is simulated. To run the demo, unzip the WINDEMO.ZIP file. This creates two files, README.TXT and APW3DEMO.EXE. APW3DEMO.EXE is a self-extracting zip file. APW3DEMO.EXE must be executed to extract the files needed to run the demo. To execute the APW3DEMO.EXE program either double click on the program name from Windows Explorer or invoke the program via the Start -> Run menu.

APW3DEMO.EXE prompts the user asking for permission to create the C:\APW3DEMO sub-directory. If the user allows the sub-directory to be created the files are extracted and placed into the sub-directory. To run the demo execute the APW.EXE program (located in the C:\APW3DEMO sub-directory) either by double clicking on it from Windows Explorer or from the Start -> Run menu. To remove the demo, simply delete the C:\APW3DEMO sub-directory.

An Autopilot manual is included on the diskette. Click on the APUSRGD.EXE file or type APUSRGD at a DOS prompt. This file will extract the manual document into a temporary file or a file of your choice. To view the manual, click on the APUSRGD1.DOC file or type BROWSE APUSRGD1.DOC at a DOS prompt.
